Tired of the same old slopes and looking for some exciting adventures in untouched terrain? Then our ski school Salober-Schröcken "Freeride Basics" course is what you need. Dive right into the Freeride-Scene in Warth-Schröcken at the Arlberg and become acquainted with different riding technique required on the varying terrains. Our experienced ski guides are on hand to provide you with professional advice and help you pick up basic techniques you need to explore off-piste skiing in the Arlberg safely. To ensure a safe, fun and success entry to the wonderful world of free riding, incl. safety equipment (PIEPS transceiver, shovel, avalanche probe), along with instructions on using them, are provided at no extra charge by the ski school.

Course information

Freeride Basics takes place every Thuesday and Thursday at 10.15am.
Duration: Approximately 5 hours
Participants: 4-6 participants
Registration: At least 1 day in advance (before 3pm)
Meeting point is at the Ski School Salober-Schröcken office at 10.00am.


  • Information about alpine dangers, emergency equipment, avalanche victim search, checking lines
  • Inclusive of safety equipment: transceiver, probe, shovel, backpack
  • Small groups with a maximum from 4 to 6 participants

Our guides have the right to adjust programme based on weather/snow conditions and the skiing ability of the participants.

TIP: With a valid "Freeride Basics" ski course ticket you will receive a special discount on freeride ski rental (1 day for only € 22,-) in Sport Jug at the Salober valley station. Advanced reservations are required. Please finish the ski adjustment before the course.
